I have been through a few different fittings ranging from smaller to larger big box golf shops, and Titleist demo days and fitters. The big box stores who say they are certified for Titleist fittings is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get. I have met some very knowledgeable people at the stores and some who didn't have a clue what they were selling, and they all used simulators. Typically their simulators are set up once, and never re-calibrated or checked unless they break down. There is no substitute for the Titleist certified fitters and working outdoors. Lucky for me the Titleist rep in my area is not far from me and willing to set up an appointment if needed. It sounds like you already spent a lot of money on drivers so you may want to wait a year and then find a good recommended Titleist fitter and email them for a schedule of upcoming fittings. Take the time to get it done right. It's worth the money even to travel a bit to a good fitting location.

RE: My Experience With 2 Separate Driver Fittings

Thanks to all for your comments!

RE: My Experience With 2 Separate Driver Fittings

First, I'm sorry to hear you had two terrible experiences with your fittings. Second, swapping out the shaft on your driver and fairway wood is easy, but the catch is you will need to swap out with a Titleist SureFit adapter equipped shaft. All Titleist drivers from the 910 series through TS series have the same adapter. The SureIt adapter for fairway woods have been the same from the 913 series through TS series (910 fairways are the odd man out). If you purchased a different brand of woods at E.W. the shafts installed will not fit your Titleist driver or fairway wood and may not be available for purchase through Titleist. A two parted suggestion: 1) go back to E.W. and see if they have a Titleist shaft similar to what you purchased that you can try outside at a range or for a round 2), find a qualified Titleist fitter near you and and set-up an appt, take your Titleist clubs and explain your issue and see what can be done.

My first and last fitting was at a big box golfing store that fitted me with a 9.5 915 with a blue stiff shaft. At least it was a D2 and not a D3 On course I barely got the ball above the horizon. I will only get fit a Premier fitting location. Not so much for the selection, but for the expertise.

RE: My Experience With 2 Separate Driver Fittings

The first was club champion and the second was at a local club.
