4 iron and lob wedge are the two I can alternate leaving at home.
With them, 14 in the bag.

I (as a beginner) would reduce the number of clubs in the bag to avoid overthinking. Driver, 20-degree hybrid, 5, 7, 9, 48, 56, 60 & putter.

I even play when I sold my club left with Driver, Hybrid, 7 iron, 50, 56, 60, & putter, still able to enjoy the game,

I like the 12-13 club bag idea. I played this set up about 90 percent of the time last year and it worked very well for me. Driver, TSi2 16.5 degree fairway metal, 718 AP1 4-48 degree wedge, Vokey SM8 54 degree wedge and depending on the course I may drop in my Vokey SM7 58 degree wedge. It’s all a personal choice and what works best for you.

I have a lot of Titleist clubs. In addition to a 9.0* Titleist driver, I have 13.5, 15.0, 16.5 and 18.0 fairway clubs along with 5 through PW T100s irons. And 46*, 48*, 50*, 54*, 56*, 58* and 60* Vokey wedges. But I carry between 10 and 14 clubs depending on course conditions. Right now in NW Colorado it is amazing that you can still get on a golf course.

I’m with you Andrew. My typical set up is 13 clubs, especially when walking. I will likely carry 12 at Bandon. If riding or playing a course for the first time, I will usually carry 14. I have 16 clubs that I alternate from depending on the course, conditions, and walking or riding.

You can have 14 clubs, why not just care the 2 additional? I don’t really see how 12 is going to make that much of a difference. Just my .02.

Gap between 48 and 50 seems a bit small. Why not consider 52 and 56 so you have 4 degrees gap in between
