Thank you. I am excited for you, and for Titleist on this GT product line. This is a bold move for Titleist and a great market position for them too. I am ordering my GT2 driver and fairway woods today.

Good luck, I got fitted for the GT3 driver and had been playing all of the TS models as a 2 (TS2, TSI2 and TSR2). The GT3 has a noticeably deeper face than what I am used to, but I trust the fitting process, it gave me the best numbers.

I was not. Fan of the deep faced woods. I like the look of the shallower faced FWs and find them easier to get in the air. May be a mental thing.

Technology improves so that after 3-4 releases, the newer clubs have notable improvements. Not to mention at 71, matching the clubs to your swing is a worthwhile check. Only rare exceptions are close to their swing at 70 as they were at 50. Even if you are only one club shorter into greens, the game will be more fun. Have fun getting new results!

I have a fitting appointment tomorrow for the new GT woods. My playing partners tell me I do not need new woods and irons. Yes, my 20- year Cobra and Titleist clubs still work. Distance is not the same, but I am 71 years old. My hopes are that this new technology allows me to produce some eye-opening results.

If you bought those clubs new, even you have changed in over 20 years. If you haven’t lost distance since 2004, then don’t change a thing.
There are smaller drivers coming to market, as well as the -4 versions of Titleist drivers that are 440 cc heads. With a plethora of shafts and tweaking adjustable heads, fitters can now fine tune a driver specifically for you. Would using a one club shorter after a drive help you?
Since you hit driver straight, I don’t think deep face is inportant to you. Any driver consistently on/near the sweet spot will work. Hitting higher on the face will increase spin, so more space isn’t beneficial. If a deeper face aided a majority of golfers, someone would market it
Many of us old farts (I’m 74) appreciate the additional forgiveness in the newer models, along with 40 g driver shafts to help maintain speed and help increase launch for carry distance. Up to you to decide if you only want newer models or if you really need to upgrade.

Thank you for your comment, and I agree but I’m interested how a deep face compares. Are there advantages or disadvantages. Most deep face max out at 440 cc. Why? I hit this driver very straight. Technology no doubt has helped most folks. I am 71 years old and yes a fitting is necessary. FYI I have 2004 Titleist 804os irons.

Those are very much outdated technology. Ball, shaft and club head designs have all evolved since then over several generations of tech advancements. Time for a professional fitting to get you up to date.
