The straps are very nice, but man, there's almost no padding in them. Also, the clothing pocket seems small, even with the extender unzipped, much smaller than my last

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts
I just got the non-plus version. I think the pad are fine, but I have to agree with the rain hood. Living in the rainy PNW I keep the rain hood on year round, so I was a bit taken aback when I first pulled it out.

That being said, I might find I really love it when the rain starts coming down consistently in a few weeks.
Yep, when I first saw this newer style I was not sure but after using it in Bandon and Ireland, I think it works a lot better in the rain than the old zipper style covers.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts

Huh. Rangefinder pocket. Do you grab it while the bag is still on your shoulder? It would be awkward (positioned very low) to grab when the bag is standing up. Thanks for the idea.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts

Correct. On the older bags you could slip it up. The wire on the newer bags have a small metal tab under the plastic that keeps it from sliding easily. I have popped mine off and to reinstall it higher, used pliers to clamp it back. On one bag after I moved it up, it occasionally kept popping loose so I added black electrical tape around it which solved that problem.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts
Or you can tighten the leg tension by moving the plastic tension plate a little higher up on the two wires.
I've tried your suggestion, but it doesn't budge. Rainhood fabric on one side and terry on the other. I use it when the weather is iffy. Attaches to the towel hook, but long enough to drape over the clubs while walking, etc. Something like that might serve you better than the hood supplied with your bag.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts
I have a Players 4 Plus StaDry bag, new this spring (ordered last fall). I like the size of the top so that I can have 3 metals (driver plus 2 fwys) and my putter at the top of the bag. The pockets are quite adequate, although the open pocket (no zipper) at the bottom edge of the apparel pocket confounds me. I don't know what it is designed to hold.

Like many other stand bags, the legs do droop when 'on the shoulder'. And, I dislike the snap-in connectors for the bag straps at the top of the bag because the length of the mini-straps is such that the snaps get caught under the cuff/grab handle. They are going to break and leave the bag non-functional as there won't be a way to put replacement snap-in on the bag.

Other than that, no problem. Maybe the snap-ins will be stronger than I think, but it is still annoying that they get caught when picking up the bag.
That pocket (if it’s the one I think you mean) is for your rangefinder. At least, that’s what I use it for.

And the legs flopping under the bag is the one main thing that drives me insane! It smacks the back of my legs while I’m walking. I had taken to strapping them shut, but it’s a royal pain to keep doing that for 18 holes, so I’ve resigned myself to having to deal with it.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts

Sorry for the delayed response, but for some reason, I wasn’t alerted that there were any replies!

To me seems as though it doubles as a cover in/for wet weather so you can easily access clubs in inclement weather. The strap design has been used for a few years now and I believe it is better than the one that had the adjustable disk.

RE: Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag post-purchase thoughts

Well doc, I am sure Titleist appreciates your feedback.
