So was fitted by Titleist for my irons in 2019 but never got fitted for wedges at the same time.
My irons are plus 0.5 in length.
Now if I was to buy new wedges would you think it would be only right to get them the same

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

Thank you for the messages

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

Yeah I’d go the same extra length as your irons as I have with mine when I’ve been fitted for my t100’s and recently for the sm9’s but would definitely recommend a fitting

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

Hey Simon, I would definitely do a wedge fitting with with a Titleist Master Fitter (not those clowns at a certain Golf retail chain). I did a fitting for my SM8s with a Titleist Master Fitter and we covered more than just shaft length, flex, grind and loft...there are several different types of wedge shafts at the same length but have different levels of torque that will help dial back or dial up your RPM.

Interestingly, the fitter actually reduced my wedge count from 6 to 5 replacing 3 SM7s in the bag with 2 SM8s because it turned out that all I needed to do was change the lofts a little bit to get better spacing and I had two clubs at different lofts giving me a similar distance. (even though this meant less business for Titleist, he gave me what would be best for my game - again, different to the clowns at aforementioned golf retail chain).

There is so much value in getting a proper fitting especially on clubs as vital as wedges. Good luck

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

I’d get fitted for the wedges too. That way you’ll get the best from what are your scoring clubs. I have slightly heavier, but softer shafts in my wedges as they give better feel and control. My iron lengths are gapped 0.5’’ down to the wedges which are 0.25”. So it’s all down to what suits you best in that respect. You’ll also be able to determine the best bounce options for your swing and partial shot preferences.

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

I would stick with the same spec as your irons and drop a flex on any wedge after the gap wedge. I play stiff shafts in my irons and dropped to a regular on to 54 and 58. If not sure then go for a fitting Simon, it can’t do any harm and may confirm your own thoughts.

RE: Wedge shaft lengths

I play with 1” longer on my T100 irons and sm8 wedges.
I’ll be ordering my sm9s to the same spec buddy ️‍♂️
