Just Found the Ball

We were playing in The Patty Johnstone Outing. I hit one long on the 6th, into the protected area. We spent a few minutes looking for it (Pro V1). During the search I found a brand new (Pro V1) with a green line mark over the "pro v". I put it in my pocket. My bud Tony found mine - which turned out to be unplayable. We hit our "best ball" which was a little further back. I was last to go, and hit a perfect sand wedge (png ISI BeCu) from 120, and landed it 4 feet from cup. A guaranteed bird - we thought. 4 missed putts for bird. We settled for the par and moved onto the par 3 7th. We put 2 on the green, the it was my turn. We had 122 to the pin. A perfect distance for a full sand wedge. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the pro V that I had just found on the 6th. I was going to switch it with the one that I had been playing, but it looked so clean and new, that I said that I had to hit it. I teed it up and told myself to put the same swing on it - as I did on the 6th. The swing felt good, had a nice flight - right at the pin. I knew it was gonna be close. I picked up my tee and began walking back to the cart - until my boys started going crazy. They started saying that it went in!!!! I could not believe it. There was no way it went in. I've been down this road before. I couldn't see anything from where I was. But they guaranteed be that it went in. I grabbed my phone and asked one of the grounds keepers( who also saw it go in) to take a picture of the 4 of us. I got a pic next to the tee marker, then took a 122 yard ride to the green. I saw 2 balls on the green, but they we accounted for. I handed the phone to Tony, and had him record approach to the hole. There it was. The ProV that I had just found, and hit for my first - and only time. My First Hole in One. Made a great day - for a great cause- even better. One that I will never forget. Glad it happened with such good friends.
