    How many of yall have put a 7 wood in the bag? What are your likes/dislikes about it over a 3 iron/hybrid. I just purchased a tsr2 7 wood to go with my 5 wood. Hoping I’m gonna like it as much as I did in my fitting.

    I contemplated going that route too but I like hitting irons more than woods (from the fairway) so I went the 3U route.

    Good luck with it in play, sure is a pretty addition to the rest of the fleet.

    I have gone back and forth over the years between two fairways and a hybrid and sometimes three fairways and no hybrid. I don't even think of addressing them as 3, 5, and 7 woods anymore as there are so many loft offerings that I feel it is more important to work the loft combinations that minimize your gaps and give you the best consistency in play. The longest iron in my bag for quite a while now is a 6 iron. I just do not have enough swing speed or consistency in my contact to hit long irons anymore. Fairways and hybrids are much more forgiving and their height allows me to better hold greens on long approaches. Most importantly, use what works best for you, regardless of what we might use.     I prefer the 7 wood, after trying hybrids for the first time at a recent fitting where I did not feel comfortable with a hybrid
    I have loaned a hybrid, to test a hybrid on the course
    I found that I preferred hitting either a 3 iron or 2 iron from a fairway and the 7 wood from the semi roof just off the fairway

    I am currently trying the TSR2 7 wood but still think it is a little hooky for me, even in flat setting. Height is exactly what I want compared to my TSR3 hybrid of the same loft. So I am in the process of cutting it down an inch (all tip cut) and adding the heavier weight to keep the swingweight the same. I am hoping the combo of a little stiffer shaft and a little more mass in the head will straighten that flight out.

    The best thing I did in 2019 was go to a heavier shaft to get rid of a pull. And 1/2” short. I’ve had a 910F 21 and 910H27 for ages. Plus 816H1 25 and 27. With the 910s, used Kaili R since 2020. The other two were Diamana S70+ R and S (which I moved to my TS2 23 and 27; I traded them along with return of a TSR2 7 wood for a TSR1 9 wood). The 910s currently have Ilima stiff and reside with my dad’s clubs. I play a 44” length 915D2 with Diamana 62 stiff.

    With the 7 wood I would pull it a bit using the Bassara shaft.

    What gap were you looking to fill with the 7W? Fairway finder or something to hit into green on long holes?

    I’m currently debating adding another fairway or hybrid to my bag. I currently go 3W, 3 U500, T200 4I. Missing something to have in my bag to handle the rough. Love the 3 U500 off the tee and fairways. Thinking of an option to replace the 4I for courses with heavy rough. Need to visit a Titleist fitting event.

    Had to re-configure my woods when I added a 7 Wood. Went with TSi 3 13.5, TSR2 16.5, and then a TSR 2 21, seven wood.. Have a 5 hybrid TSi2 and T-300 irons in the bag. Love the set-up

My goal was more height this time around and my fitter put together shafts and heads that would help me achieve this goal with the TSR1 heads in both. Previously I had played an 18* and 21* hybrid and 5-48W irons. This time we ended up with a 18* Fairway (set @ 17*), 20* and 23* hybrid (5 fairway and two hybrids). Seems to be the clubs of choice for me. Think the best thing to do is to go to a fitting and work on the settings and then make a few minor adjustments to get the desired results, if needed. It does take a little time when making changes in shafts and new heads. The TSR heads are a bit larger than the 816/818 I was playing.

    I carry a 3, 5 & 7 wood. Love them all. I have set with a little more loft to fill the gap to my 5i. I hit it 190 to 195 yards.

    Said previously, I too am trying to break the habit of saying 3wood/5wood/7wood and focus on loft (same with wedges Approach/Gap/Sand/Lob).
    Currently play a 13.5* fairway (3wood), 18* fairway (sort of a 3iron replacement) and a 21* hybrid (4iron replacement). Really like that I can play the 18* off the tee, fairway and from the rough (if the lie is decent). Thought about a 15* fairway (sort of a 3wood) but then it would be too close in gapping to the 18* - and I really like the 18* to give it up just yet.

    hit my first 7 wood and 4 wood the other day. 7 wood felt like i was looking at a hybrid on steroid but the 4 wood was easy to launch

    I carry a 3 wood and a 5 wood. I find a 22 degree hybrid to work better for me than a 7 wood. About the same distance with both, but the hybrid is much easier to work the ball with.

    I used to be able to hit a 3 wood in the days of laminated and persimmon because they were only 42" Since 2007, I've used a combination of 5 and 9 wood with a 5H. Or a 7 wood and 5H. I also play the 5 wood at 41.5" and 7 wood at 41" but use 70g shafts. The problem with 9 woods was the available ones on the market have too flat of a lie angle. I've been trying to use a 21 or 23 hybrid and hit them ok but nowhere near as consistent as a 7 wood (which I've learned to work over the years). The 25 and 27 hybrids have been rock solid since about 2019 (816H1) and I have played them with 70g shafts at 38.5" and 38" and they are very workable (a go to out of fairway bunkers). I recently acquired a TSR1 23 fairway (found it in the ladies' bin) and installed a Diamana 72 x5ct stiff shaft at 40.5"; been playing it for 2 weeks now... no problem navigating fairways and hitting 175 yard par 3s plus rather easy to hit off an uneven lie. Completed the setup this week with the 20 fairway and 26 hybrid (re used some shafts I had at home; I tried out a TSR2 7 wood a few weeks back - didn't like it so returned it after finding out the TS2 5 wood was easier to hit in a side by side comparison) and, because of "cleaning house" (returns and trade-ins), spent about 1/3 the retail cost. They played very well yesterday on an executive course I play periodically; I fine tuned them at the driving range (all 3 now have standard head weights and the lofts are 20.75-24.5-28). One nifty factoid I found out about the TSR1 vs TSR2 heads is the latter is 1.5 swingweights heavier. I'd been playing a TS2 27 hybrid for almost 3 months before upgrading to the TSR1 hybrid. I'm a bit of a tinkerer so I buy things from the demo/used bin. Since I know what shafts work, it is a matter of swapping heads. Plus head weights are cheap and I "just so happened to have" TSR1/2 headweights available.

    I love a 7 wood. Long par 3’s are no longer at the mercy of how I’m hitting my 4i that day. Flies high and lands soft.

    I use one for when I am traveling to a course with high rough and I need to replace my 3 or 4 iron...

    Recently ditched my 4 iron for a 7 wood and won't go back! It fills the gap nicely from my 5 wood to my 6 iron. Hitting the woods over long irons is night and day for me. It's all about how each club performs for your game.

    Since I simply cannot carry my 5 iron like in the past and I am not a huge fan of hybrids, I purchased a 23 degree TSR1 fairway metal (9 wood) for forced carries. What a great investment!

    When I first broke 80 in 2013, had a 910F 19 fairway and a Steelhead III 9 wood. I've used a "Divine 9" in 2009.

    I just got a TSR1 23 fairway after returning a TSR2 21 and trading in clubs I no longer needed. Net cash outlay? A little under $12. I was hitting my TS2 18 fairway very well today after getting it and my TS2 hybrids dialed in. I installed a Diamana 72 x5ct S shaft on the TSR1 and changed the head weight to 3g. Super consistent at least on the range. I carried a 9 wood a few years ago because I found it much easier to hit than a 21 or 23 hybrid.

    I dialed my TSR1 9 wood in today. 40.5" shaft with 7g headweight. I love the way it hits (175 yards). The shaft was 41.5" so it is slightly soft stepped.

    I have gone back and forth over the years between a 7 wood and a hybrid.

    I bought a TSR1 21* hybrid a few months ago and I'm thrilled.
    Plays like a small fairway wood and is very long. Fitted with a hzrdus red shaft and the ultralight shaft replaced.

    I've used a 910F 21 fairway since 2012. I have a TSR2 7 wood and an 816H1 25 for my "Sunday Bag" setup. Can't go wrong with a 7 wood.

    I've had a 910F 21 fairway on and off since 2015 with various shaft types. Since 2019 I carried one with a Kai'ili R set at 41" I currently have an Ilima 71 S and it is in reserve. I returned the TSR2, got a trade in for 816H1 25 and 27 and ended up getting a TSR1 23 fairway (albeit from the bin with ladies' clubs). Threw one of the shafts I used with the TSR2 7 wood (Diamana 72 x5ct S 41") onto the 9 wood and changed the head weight to 3g. My TS2 18 fairway was doing very well off the fairway and on the long par 3s.

    I returned the TSR2 and got trade in for a couple 816H1 hybrids. My cash outlay for the TSR1 9 wood was $12. I saved $60 because the 9 wood was in the ladies' demo bin. I threw an available 41" shaft on with 3g head weight. Got another Diamana 72 x5ct S shaft and set the length to 40.5 and dialed it in today (7g headweight is pretty consistent with the rest of my fairways and hybrids all being -1/2" and 70g shafts).

    The 910F 21 and TS2 18* are pretty close in setup (41.25" Ilima R A2 vs 41.5" Diamana 72 R A3). About equal on the deck but the TS2 had a 5-10 yard edge in distance off the tee. I've had the 910F for ages and have in a bag with my late dad's clubs. I actually hit the 975J driver pretty well.
