There are approx 10 of us that went to school together in the 70's and we are fortunate enough to still see each other several tines a month and play golf at various courses in middle TN and the surrounding area. On this day 8/14/25 we had scheduled tee times at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville, TN. We were on the south course and pulled upon hole #6 which is a par 3. I believe it was playing about 130 yds so I took out my 9 iron. I had been pulling or drawing the ball the past few holes and when I teed off on this one is was actually going straight, but I thought it was about 10' right of the pin. As the ball was in the air, I bent down to pick up my tee and the guys with me starting shouting and high fiving saying "It's in the hole.......it's in the hole". Looking up to my disbelief I did not see my ball on the green, which doesn't mean much because I can't normally see my ball that far anyway; and these guys are very subject to pull a prank on someone like that. Well we got to the green and there it was in the hole. I was still in shock that I actually made it. Immediately the foursome in front of us and behind us became my closest friends and wanted to know when I was gonna be in the clubhouse. It was a great time with great school friends. One of my buddies told me to put that ball back in the bag and get out another one. I was a couple of shots shy of breaking 80 that day, but after hole #6 it didn't really matter. Thanks to Titleist for making great equipment and balls. Golf is good!
