My First Hole-in-One
At Bonita Golf Course’s 15th hole — 110 yards, slightly uphill with the pin tucked behind a bunker and the wind in my face — I pulled out my 9-iron. After coming off a double bogey, I told myself, “I’m going to birdie this hole.” I aimed left of the pin and tried to trap the ball, hoping it would feed toward the flag. The shot landed just a foot past the hole and spun back — then disappeared.
The other players started shouting that it went in, but I didn’t want to believe it until I walked up and saw it with my own eyes… sure enough, there it was — my first hole-in-one!
