October 18th, 2025 - Hole 13 - 150 yards. League play at Reflection Bay. There is a deep bunker in front of the green that is difficult to get up and down from. I often take an extra club to avoid the bunker. I'd rather be on the back of the green. On this day I played awful on the front 9. On hole 9 I made a couple tweaks and was suddenly hitting the ball much better. I hit great shots since hole 9 and just had an eagle putt on the par 5, 12th hole. I made birdie and was feeling confident in my ball striking. At the last moment I decided to drop the 8-iron and hit the 9-iron because I was hitting crisp shots for a few holes now. I took aim at the pin. The shot was about two feet left of the hole the hole way. After two hops it checked and spun right and disappeared into the hole. The guys in my group and I all were yelling. Unfortunately that day we were playing total score only and not playing skins or closest to the pin (which would have won me some money helped me cover the bar tab). It was still worth it of course.
