  1. Anyone know what's going on with her and Titleist? From what I've seen she's still playing Titleist but she's no longer listed as a brand ambassador or even a Titleist golf ball player on their 'Tour' page. I haven't seen anyone mention it, just thought it was odd she's not on there.

Rumours I heard were she was going to sign, or had signed with TM. Apparently used a TM club during the PNC before Christmas.

Guess time will tell if there is any announcement!

Golfwrx did a WITB for Nelly for the PNC and it's all Titleist accept for a png hybrid: www.golfwrx.com/.../ but no updates yet...she'd be a big player to lose for TT

I don’t know… does she post enough here in these forums? You can’t be giving those to just anyone.

Jokes aside this would be a huge loss for TT. She’ll be a fantastic ambassador for whatever company she chooses.

Nelly would be a sad loss, she is an outstanding player and seems to be very engaging with the crowds, rumors I have heard area deal with TM but who knows. It's that time of year for the players and the manufacturers to get ready for the upcoming season.

Brooke had already switched to the TP5 ball
  10. Saw a bag pic from pnc that showed a couple of irons with toe screw weight like a p770 of a png i230. At the end of the day, I trust what the non contract players use. Go TT

Nelly to swoosh. Will wear head get, apparel and shoes of the Swoosh. Equipment deal looks like TM.

  12. I saw this morning that she also has been pulled into the swoosh stable for apparel. Uncle Phil has the ability to toss around crazy cash. They also got Tom Kim in the last 2 weeks.

Hate to see her go, but love to see her leave. LOL. I’m a big Nelly fan, great human being and amazing golfer, so it’s sad to see she’s most likely leaving titleist. Will always cheer for her and her sis though!

Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave. LOL. For real though, I’m a big Nelly (and Jessica) fan. Great humans and amazing golfers. Bummed that she’s (seemingly) leaving Titleist, but will always be cheering her on!
Also, I can’t believe Brooke is leaving png. She’s been with them since her junior days!
  16. I'm surprised she's leaving Titleist due to her connection with the yet unreleased TSR1 (and previously TSi1). TM doesn't really have a club that is like it. Stealth 2 would be akin to TSR2 and Stealth 2 Plus would be akin to TSR3. I mean, I'm sure they can make her whatever she wants but still, odd to me.
  17. Love watching her play. This is in true TM fashion though. They market great brand ambassadors, but I always see them putting the player at the forefront over their product. Titleist provides the best products for certain.
  18. I think a lot of it is Titleist seems to have the most players (not just the elite tours, but lower tours as well) so they don't necessarily want to pay a ton of the top-tier players what they command. We've seen it for years where young players start out all Titleist (Tiger, Rory etc) and then jump ship later. It's definitely not the equipment, so it must be some of the other manufacturers offer more money to more star players.

It's official, Nelly has signed with TM. Full bag of clubs and the TP5 Ball and of course the swoosh deal from last week. Fans have to understand that professional athletes have a small window to earn big. Money doesn't just talk, it SCREAMS! I'll still root for Nelly, the best U.S. player on the LPGA Tour.
  22. Well said.

She should have asked me first. I went to a TM Stealth driver fitting with my buddy last summer, and the fitter was too honest for his job. He had me try 2 different heads and about a dozen different shafts, and then told me "quite honestly I can't give you any better numbers than what you're playing right now." Titleist TS2 with a Graphite Design AD XC shaft.
He didn't offer any contract or incentives to switch, but it would have to be at least 7 figures, and their bag tags are ugly.
In today's sports world, you gotta wonder if it's for the equipment or for the money. As a pro competitor I'm sure she wants the best clubs that fit her game, but big dollars can sway just about anything. And I bet part of their agreement prevents her from letting us know which clubs/balls she prefers if it's not their brand. Might have to sneak out to her local club range some day and see what she's swinging when nobody else is around.

  25. This is simply a business decision, it's the start of 2023 and the athletes are aligning with new sponsors. Athletes make more money off their non-equipment deals so the move to swoosh makes sense plus they have a more comprehensive off course product line. As a fan I am excited for Nelly to continue her skyward trajectory, as a golfer I am excited to benefit from the product feedback that she gives back to her sponsors. As a golfer it's been fun to watch her TSI3 vs TSR1 driver (model and shaft choices) set up as she negotiated her injuries. Titleist tech let her continue her driver for more speed even while she was injured. That aligns with my expectations of Titleist, they truly are both quality and innovation in one. It's also neat to see how many people in this forum support Nelly because this is what is driving the growth of the LPGA right now.
  26. I also hate to see Nelly leave ... she's such an amazing player.

This one hurts me. Really hurts me. Oh, Nelly....whyyyy?

  28. With her swing she could use a croquet mallet and be fine. All jokes a side she is great player. Sad to see her switch
