    Hello,

Who else on here plays in the Veterans Golf Association. My home state is Michigan, but wouldn't mind traveling to other Veterans and playing golf with them.

Playing with golf with other Vets is more fun than playing with Non Vets as most the time Veterans understand each other.

    Thanks Josh

Check this site out. It's called PGAHope. I belong to it in Charleston, SC. SC has one of the largest chapters in the US. This might might enable you to meet veterans locally and around Michigan.

Also, go to vgagolf.org. Click on VGA events, there are a number of events happening in Michigan this year. They list every event by state for 2026. Enough to keep you busy meeting up with veterans. USAF 1965-1971, DAV. Member PGAHope.

Maybe try to attend The Tribute event at American Dunes. Many of the attendees are veterans and even some of us non-veterans who have spent their lives in the defense industry, employing veterans and doing what we can to make products that give our troops the greatest advantages. We are not so bad either.

I went to sign up for it but the event cost’s too much and it’s also booked.

    Thanks for the info though

One other thought if you are looking to meet up with veterans. If you are registered with the VA and have a VA ID card you can get on military installations. If there is one in your area and they have a golf course there is a good place to meet veterans. I use mine once I registered, to play the two courses here in Charleston. Just food for thought. I like to play in their tournaments.

HOW can you use it? Once you have obtained your VHIC, you don't automatically get base access. Upon your first visit to a military base, your first stop should be to the Visitor Control Center (VCC). Some bases have the option for enrolling in recurring access, but this varies from base to base. Please note, according to VA news, "as with all other individuals seeking access to DoD installations, all eligible Veterans must pass a basic on-the-spot background check prior to enrolling, and an automated check each time they enter the installation. Veterans with felony convictions, felony arrest warrants, or other types of derogatory information related to criminal history or terrorism will not be permitted entry."

Hey Josh! I also plan on the VGA! It’s a great community and the events are super fun and relaxing. I’m out of Southeast Idaho, if you’re ever in the area, hit me up!
