Gaby Lopez Makes 14 Birdies Over the Weekend to Win the Dana Open Presented by Marathon

Gaby Lopez (Pro V1x) birdied her final three holes Sunday to cap a flawless 8-under 63 and one-shot win.

  • Nobody went lower over the weekend than Lopez, who made 14 birdies and a single bogey over the final two days to finish at 18-under and capture her third-career LPGA victory.
  • For the week, Lopez hit 78 percent of greens in regulation (56 of 72) while going 8-for-9 in sand saves.
  • Lopez also birdied Nos. 16 through 18 at Highland Meadows GC to finish out Saturday’s round, playing her final 21 holes of the week in 11-under.
  • Lopez led a 1-2-3 finish for Titleist golf ball players, one shot clear of Megan Khang (Pro V1) and two ahead of Caroline Masson (Pro V1x).

CHAMPION PLAYS TITLEIST DRIVER, IRONS, WEDGES

  • The winner of the LPGA’s Dana Open, in addition to her Pro V1x golf ball, also gamed a TSi3 9.0° driver, TSi3 23.0° hybrid, T200 (5) and T100 (6-GW) irons and Vokey Design SM9 54.10S and 60.08M wedges.

KORN FERRY TOUR |Korn Ferry Tour Championship

Playing a Pro V1 golf ball, Justin Suh closed in 4-under 68 to win the Korn Ferry Tour’s 2022 finale by two shots.

  • Suh, who had already earned his PGA TOUR card through the Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season points list, posted four rounds in the 60’s due in large part to strong ball striking.
  • The 25-year-old USC alum, once the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, hit 61 of 72 (85%) greens over the four days at Victoria National, topping the field (T1).
  • He also finished T4 in Scrambling (72.7%).
  • It marked the first-career KFT victory for Suh, who finished No. 1 in the season-long points race, earning exemptions into the 2023 Players Championship and the 2023 U.S. Open, to go along with his 2022-23 TOUR playing privileges. 

24 OF 25 KFT FINALS GRADUATES TRUST TITLEIST

  • Of the 25 players who earned their 2022-23 PGA TOUR cards through the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, 24 of them used at least one piece of Titleist equipment.
  • That list includes Austin Eckroat (Pro V1), who posted four rounds of 68 or better to finish in solo second, making the week’s biggest leap on the KFT Finals points list.
  • Eckroat started the week at T64 and ended Sunday at No. 3 to lock up his TOUR card.
  • Also making big jumps to secure their cards: Nicolas Echavarria (Pro V1x, 71st to 20th), Tano Goya (Pro V1, 59th to 19th) and Eric Cole (Pro V1x, 44th to 7th).
  • In total, 21 of the 25 KFT Finals grads were Titleist golf ball players, including the KFT Finals points leader (Pro V1 Left Dot).

TITLEIST IS TOP CHOICE AMONG THE 50 TOTAL KORN FERRY TOUR GRADS

  • Of the 50 total players who earned 2022-23 PGA TOUR cards this season through the Korn Ferry Tour’s Regular Season and Finals points lists:
  • 41 played a Titleist Pro V1, Pro V1x, Pro V1 Left Dot or Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball, more than 10 times the nearest competitor (4).

Titleist Brand Ambassador YoSeop Seo won for the second-consecutive week on the KPGA Tour, posting 22 under over the four rounds to complete a wire-to-wire victory.

  • Seo was the only player to shoot all four rounds in the 60’s, capping off the tournament with a 4-under 68.
  • Eight of the top-10 finishers trusted a Titleist ball, including Seo (Pro V1) and runner-up TaeHo Kim (Pro V1).

Titleist Brand Ambassador Kaito Onishi birdied the first hole of a playoff to earn his first Japan Tour title.

AMATEUR | U.S. Senior Amateur

The winner of the 67th U.S. Senior Amateur relied on his Pro V1 golf ball, three Vokey Design wedges and Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 putter to capture his first USGA title at the Kittansett Club.

  • In the all-Titleist golf ball final, the champion got his Pro V1 up-and-down for key par saves on Nos. 7 and 8 on his way to a 3-and-2 victory. All four of the championship’s semifinalists, and seven of the eight quarterfinalists, played a Pro V1 or Pro V1x
  • With the victory, the winner receives exemptions into the next 10 U.S. Senior Amateur Championships, the 2023 U.S. Senior Open, and the next two U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships.
  • Earlier this year he won the Trans-Mississippi Senior Championship and the Florida Senior Azalea Amateur and finished runner-up at the North & South Senior.
